Meeting with the Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of the Republic of Srpska

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the representatives of the Republic of Srpska, the Serbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović and the Prime Minister Radovan Višković to discuss all aspects of relations and cooperation between Serbia and Srpska. Next year, Serbia will provide additional financial support to the Republic of Srpska, and that preserving peace and stability remains essential for everyone.

"We had the most comprehensive meeting so far, and we talked about all aspects of relations and cooperation between Serbia and Srpska." As far as economic cooperation is concerned, we have analysed all our projects, and we will send additional financial support to the Republic of Srpska before the end of the year and the beginning of next year. We consider it our moral obligation and very important because we want people in the Republic of Srpska to preserve their homes and what their grandfathers, great-grandfathers and fathers left them," said President Vučić.

President Vučić pointed out that support for young people in agricultural production was also discussed at the meeting, as well as small businesses in the procurement of equipment, but also education and preservation of the language and script.

"We have been working on many concrete things and projects related to the construction of health centres, schools, clinics, kindergartens, sports halls and everything that can benefit the people in the Republic of Srpska, and we are happy with how these projects are progressing. We will continue with our closest cooperation. It is time to think about the future and to talk to everyone and find a common language. Our highest goal is to preserve the peace and unity of our people," said President Vučić.

President Vučić emphasised that for Serbia - and he is convinced for the Republic of Srpska likewise - the preservation of peace and stability remains to be essential and that we must respond with calm and patience to the threats of war, "which we hear almost every day."

"We must not participate in that game in any way," said President Vučić.

President Vučić said that the document sent to him by the Republic of Srpska was also discussed at the meeting, pointing out that he had received several questions regarding the status of Srpska.

"I do not have to tell anyone how much we care about good relations with the Republic of Srpska. I said that Serbia's position is absolute respect for the Dayton Agreement, and I answered every question," he underlined.

President Vučić pointed out that the representatives of Srpska presented many information about how the Dayton Agreement is being violated in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Vučić iterated that Serbia helps Srpska a lot and does everything it can in that sense, adding that his request to the Serbian Member of the Presidency Milorad Dodik and everyone in the Republic of Srpska was to take into account the interests of Serbia always and at all times and to fight for Srpska's interests with understanding.

President Vučić also said that a decision was made for Serbia and the Republic of Srpska to celebrate a joint holiday, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag - on the 15th September, marking the breakthrough of the Salonica Front.
