President Vučić visits the works on the bridge over the Sava River

 

"Serbia will have a network on highways and fast roads and will be a completely different country. By the end of 2025, Serbia will be unrecognisable compared to what it was a year ago," said President Vučić, adding that we have created a new "bloodstream" for our country to function faster and better.

 

President Vučić obtained a promise from the contractor, the Azerbaijani company Azvirt, that the highway from Ruma to Šabac will be completed by the end of September or the beginning of October 2023, and the fast road from Šabac to Loznica by the end of October 2024.

 

 

"The contractor shortened the deadlines by a year and three months, which is a great thing," he added, emphasising that Azvirt is doing well and that he is satisfied with the work on the construction of the new bridge, and that it is very important to complete it as soon as possible.

 

"It will be the second road bridge for the people of Šabac and it is of great importance for the whole of Mačva, Kolubara, Srem, Belgrade and southern Bačka regions. We are building highways so that the citizens can benefit from them. That is what remains behind us and no one can undo it. It is a great thing and it speaks of the strength of Serbia today," said President Vučić and expressed hope that the citizens of Serbia will know how to respect the work and effort on the construction of infrastructure projects in the country.

 

 

The entire road from Ruma to Loznica will be 77 kilometres long and will be of great importance for the development of the economy of this part of Serbia. The 45.4-kilometre highway from Novi Sad through Fruška Gora to Ruma will be connected to this road so that the largest city in Vojvodina will have the fastest road connection with western Serbia and the Republic of Srpska i.e. Bosnia and Herzegovina.
