President Vučić visits the works on the construction of the new COVID hospital
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić visited today the works on the construction of a new COVID hospital in the Military Complex "Zemun ekonomija" and announced that this multifunctional hospital should be opened by 1st December.
During the site visit, President Vučić said that the state had invested slightly more than four billion dinars in the construction of the new COVID hospital, while more than two billion dinars had been invested in the COVID facility being built in Kruševac. He stated that around 170 million euros were invested in the construction of new, i.e. reconstruction of existing health facilities in Serbia, in addition to the investment in clinical centres, the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Diseases and the COVID hospital.
"At the time when people thought we were approaching the end of the epidemic, we decided to build hospitals that would further strengthen the health capacities of our country," said President Vučić, noting that merely two months ago there was nothing at the construction site.
"Thank you for your hard work! This hospital is very important because we are facing a difficult autumn, as well as the whole of Europe. I am happy that we were ready and able to invest tremendous funds as a state - four billion in this facility alone, while at least two billion will be invested in equipment. I am pleased that we have included the Serbian construction industry and that our companies follow the schedules. This is an incredible speed of construction. It is incredible progress; I am proud of the workers! This will be a large and impressive hospital," said President Vučić.
