Session of the National Security Council
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić conveyed tonight, following the session of the National Security Council, that the main topics were analysis of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, vaccination, fight against organised crime, but also procurement of new equipment and weapons to strengthen the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the Serbian Army.
"We had a long session because we discussed all the burning problems that Serbia is facing that represent a major security challenge for the country," said President Vučić.
The first item on the agenda was Kosovo and Metohija, i.e. the political situation analysis in the southern Serbian province considering the continuation of the dialogue, but also the pressure on Serbia to recognise Kosovo's independence, and the risks facing Serbian and non-Albanian citizens in Kosovo and Metohija.
"We also talked about vaccines - how and in what way to speed up vaccination and how to fight against fake news related to vaccines and the vaccination process itself. That is a huge, safety, security and economic issue for our country", said President Vučić and reiterated that one day of locking costs Serbia 190 million dollars.
The third point concerned organised crime, said President Vučić, while the fourth point referred to the procurement of new equipment, technical assets and all that is necessary for the fight against corruption and organised crime.
"Equipping and strengthening the combat readiness of our army, its capacities, as well as additional weapons so that we can represent a serious deterrent for all those who would, at any time, think that it is possible to carry out aggression against our country," concluded President Vučić.
