Congratulation to the President of the People's Republic of China for the Lunar New Year

dear President Xi,

dear friend, 

 

Please accept sincere congratulations for the Lunar New Year accompanied by the best of wishes for the progress of the People's Republic of China and wellbeing of the Chinese people. As the coming year falls in the sign that symbolises new opportunities for great accomplishments, I am convinced that through wise and bold policies, you will continue to lead your country in great strides on a firmly established path to the achievement of the stated "100-year goals" and the China Dream. 

 

We, in Serbia, are very much looking forward to the impressive achievements of the People's Republic of China, proud of our "steel friendship" and comprehensive strategic partnership. To you, dear President, we owe a great deal of gratitude for our strong ties and I am convinced that the Serbian-Chinese relations will continue to strengthen in the New Year, as well as in the decade ahead. The fruitful results of cooperation between our two countries are reflected in the increasing number of joint projects in the fields of infrastructure and energy, as well as in the significant investments of Chinese companies in the Serbian economy. I am particularly pleased that cultural cooperation is developing, which will contribute to even better mutual understanding of our nations. 

 

With fond memories of my previous stays in the People's Republic of China, I am honoured that I will soon have the opportunity to reciprocate at least some of the warm hospitality shown to me in every place in your magnificent country. At the same time, I look forward to attending the Ninth Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries to be held on April 15-16 in Beijing. The fact that you, Excellency, will chair the Summit - represents yet another confirmation that the format "17 + 1", since its inception in 2012, has grown into a comprehensive cooperation mechanism to which the Republic of Serbia has given full support and considered it an important part of your global initiative of promoting peace and cooperation - "Belt and Road". 

 

With a lasting gratitude for the understanding of the People's Republic of China for the state and national interests of the Republic of Serbia and expressions of our full support for the "One China" policy, please accept, dear President, best regards, best wishes for good health and personal happiness, as well as assurances of my deepest considerations," reads the congratulation of President Vučić.
