Congratulations on the occasion of the Serbian Army Day
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić congratulated the Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilović, and all members of the Serbian Army on the Day of the Serbian Army. The congratulation reads as follows:
”I congratulate all members of the Serbian Army on April 23 - the Day of the Serbian Army.
In memory of the Takovo Uprising, we celebrate this day as the highest military holiday - the Day of the Serbian Army. In Serbian history, this day is of special importance and is a lasting source and inspiration for both the Serbian people and our army.
Regardless of the difficult conditions and circumstances, our army has always been, is and will be a factor of stability, preservation of peace and a clear warning to all who would dare to attack Serbia.
In the previous year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to regular tasks, your members invested a lot of effort, work and energy to protect their citizens in all ways, in which they succeeded greatly and for which I thank you particularly.
A strong and prepared army is the strongest pillar of a stable state, and that is why the investments in the development and strengthening of the operational and functional capabilities of your units, which we commenced this year, are only the first step in that mission.
Convinced that we are on the right path and that each next year the Serbian Army will become even stronger and will progress more and more, I congratulate you on the holiday.
Long live the Serbian Army! Long live Serbia! ”
