Congratulations to the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić on the occasion of the upcoming holidays

On the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić received congratulations from numerous foreign officials.

New Year's and Christmas greetings to President Vučić were also sent by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose greeting reads: "Dear Aleksandar, I heartily wish you to spend the Christmas holidays in peace and joy and to enter the New Year with much health, strength and optimism - may 2020 be a peaceful and prosperous year for all of us!" The congratulations were also sent by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
 
Greetings from the Russian Federation were sent by President Vladimir Putin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and Metropolitan Hilarion, as well as Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, whose greetings read: "Dear Mr President, I heartily congratulate you the New Year and Christmas. The previous year was marked by a successful development of friendly and partner Russian-Serbian relations. Cooperation in the fields of economy, investments and trade are gaining a boost. Large joint projects in the areas of energy, industry, and infrastructure are being implemented. I am convinced that the realisation of extensive bilateral agreements will contribute to the increase of the overall cooperation and give a boost to the promising new initiatives in various fields. This meets the interests of Russia and Serbia to the fullest extent. I wish you, dear Mr President, health and well-being, and to all citizens of Serbia - happiness and prosperity."
 
President Vučić also received congratulations from Italian President Sergio Mattarella, President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg and the Norwegian King Harald V, Queen of Denmark - Margaret II, President of the Swiss Confederation Ulrich Maurer and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.
 
Congratulations on New Year's and Christmas holidays to President Vučić were also sent by the President and Prime Minister of Hungary, János Áder and Viktor Orbán, the President of Albania Ilir Meta as well as by the President and Prime Minister of Slovenia, Borut Pahor and Marjan Šarec whose holiday greeting, among others, reads as follows: "Not much can be changed in a single day. However, in 366 days, with sincere intentions, determined actions, the right amount of courage and compassion, we can change what we really care about. May the holidays be filled with peace, and let 2020 be the year full of kindness, health and success."
 
Congratulations to President Vučić were also sent by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi: "It is my sincere hope that the New Year will be an opportunity to act together to overcome the daunting challenges our world encounters nowadays as we embark on our common goals of peace and stability and I also sincerely hope that the cordial ties and bilateral relations between our two countries will continue to progress in the New Year and in the coming decades in order to achieve a better future for our friendly peoples. While iterating my most sincere greetings, I hereby convey to you my best wishes for your continued wellbeing and progress and prosperity to your friendly people and all nations of the world. "
 
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in his congratulations: "Establishing peace and tranquillity as a long-standing human ideal serves as a precondition for achieving human prosperity and progress. A strong need to address this crucial issue drives us to take steps to advance peace and justice as the essence of the human ideal in shaping a better future. Through cooperation, applying the principle of peaceful coexistence, refraining from one-sidedness and finding strategies and solutions in justice-based practices and ideas, I hope that we will all be able to present to everyone in the course of the next year the world featured by peace and compassion."
 
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Korea Mun Jae-in, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe also congratulated the President of Serbia. In addition to numerous statesmen, President Vučić also received congratulations from distinguished foreign businessmen and from the members of the diplomatic corps in Belgrade.
