Letter to the President of the People's Republic of China

"We in Serbia share the grief with the fraternal Chinese people over the victims of the coronavirus epidemic. Please convey our deepest sympathy to the families of the deceased and words of encouragement to the ones affected by the disease to get through it and recover.

 

As we share your concern regarding the possible consequences of the disease and while dreading together with you over each sick person, we also admire the audacity with which you deal with this "demon", as you call the coronavirus, convinced that through your wise policy you will find solutions and defeat it. 

 

In these challenging times, as it completes the hospitals in the city of Wuhan with at unimaginable pace, China keeps demonstrating its strength drawn from the unity of the leadership and people. In times of trial, this can only be a country with a strong and dedicated leader.

 

Dear friend, if Serbia - as a small country but a great friend of China - can help in any way, we are ready to provide this assistance within our abilities.

 

Until our next meeting at the Ninth Summit of China and the Central and Eastern European Countries to be held in Beijing, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration," reads a letter from President Vučić.
