Letters of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić received today letters of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Joost Reintjes, to whom he wished a welcome and a successful mandate in Belgrade.
President Vučić expressed his belief that there is a significant space for the improvement of political dialogue, as well as the intensification of all types of cooperation between Serbia and the Netherlands.
President Vučić and Ambassador Reintjes stated the interest of both sides in improving economic cooperation. They expressed hope that large multinational companies from the Netherlands will observe an excellent investment climate in Serbia and decide to do business in our country. Ambassador Reintjes expressed his belief that the decision of the Dutch airline KLM to introduce a direct flight, along with the existing Air Serbia, will also contribute to closer contacts.
President Vučić thanked the Netherlands for the support of Serbia to fulfil the criteria necessary for joining the European Union, emphasising that our country is undertaking the necessary reforms and that it will accelerate them in the area of the rule of law. He stressed that our country has accepted the new methodology of accession negotiations, expressing hope that we will be able to open certain clusters soon.
Speaking about regional issues, President Vučić particularly indicated that it is of key interest for Serbia to preserve stability in the region and the orientation of the Western Balkans towards the most intensive mutual cooperation.
