Meeting with representatives of Zijin and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China

President Vučić thanked the company's representatives for their readiness to discuss all issues of importance for the local community where it operates, and for the development of the Bor district and the mining and energy system of Serbia. The President especially emphasised the long-term significance of the investment of 1.26 billion dollars, which the company Zijin will invest in the upgrade, expansion and construction of four mines and a smelter in the coming years.

 

 

The interlocutors agreed that the company's existing and future activities in cooperation with the local community are vital for the citizens of Bor and the development of the entire district since Zijin will also build part of the public road infrastructure to be handed over to the city of Bor for management. The companies will also work closely with representatives of the local community and relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia, to contribute in the best way to increasing the quality of life of citizens, especially in terms of preserving a healthy environment.

 

In that sense, President Vučić particularly highlighted the importance of applying the highest standards in this area and thanked the company's representatives for their work and commitment to projects that relate exclusively to the introduction of the latest technologies following world parameters in the field of ecology.

 

President Vučić reiterated his gratitude to the People's Republic of China and Ambassador Chen Bo for their professional and personal commitment to all issues of mutual importance for the two countries.
