Meeting with the Ambassador of Palestine

Ambassador Nabhan conveyed to President Vučić the greetings of President Abbas and Foreign Minister Al-Malki, as well as their congratulations on the success in the recent elections.

 

President Vučić returned the greetings and expressed the expectation that President Abbas would visit Serbia, emphasising Serbia's unchanged attitude towards the friendly Palestinian people, saying that traditional friendships always deserve respect.

 

The two interlocutors expressed hope that the world, with international solidarity, would overcome the COVID-19 pandemic so that everyone could return to accomplishing plans for the future, and Serbia and Palestine would continue steps to form a Joint Cooperation Committee to concretise the signed agreements and support the use of the existing potentials for comprehensive cooperation.

 

President Vučić thanked for the support of Palestine to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and the principled position on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of so-called Kosovo and informed Ambassador Nabhan about the course of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.

 

Ambassador Nabhan informed President Vučić about the Palestinian view of the situation in the Middle East.

 

The interlocutors also discussed the education of a large number of Palestinian students in Serbia.
