Meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met today with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Chen Bo, to discuss the development and further improvement of relations between the two countries.
President Vučić emphasised that Serbia is exceptionally committed to strengthening the cooperation with China and that the confirmation of President Xi Jinping's visit, announced for the next year, represents a great honour and proof of the steel friendship between Serbia and China.
Ambassador Chen pointed out that intensive work is underway to prepare the 17 + 1 Summit to be held in China next April, and informed President Vučić about the state of investments of Chinese companies in Serbia.
The two interlocutors discussed joint infrastructure projects, such as the Belgrade-Budapest railway and work on the section of the Preljina-Požega highway, whose successful implementation is ongoing.
The topics tackled at th3e meeting were also the Belgrade - Niš - Preševo railway, which would make Serbia an unavoidable corridor for the transport of goods from major Greek ports to the heart of Europe, emphasising the special economic importance and the possibility of developing industrial zones along this railway.
President Vučić asked Ambassador Chen to convey his brotherly and friendly greetings to President Xi and stressed that Serbia is permanently committed to the closest relations with the People's Republic of China.
