Meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met earlier today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries especially in the light of the preparations for the working visit and meeting with President Putin on the 4th December.

Deputy Foreign Minister Grushko conveyed to President Vučić the greetings of President Putin, Prime Minister Medvedev and Minister Lavrov.

President Vučić expressed his satisfaction with the dynamics of the meeting of Serbian and Russian high officials. He stressed that he expects with great hope the forthcoming meeting in Sochi, which will be his third meeting with President Putin this year alone. He also noted that the meeting is of great importance to him as an opportunity for contentful talks and exchange of views on global and regional issues, as well as the most important issues of the Serbian-Russian cooperation, especially in the area of economy.

President Vučić thanked Russia for understanding our state and national interests, as well as for its active support in safeguarding Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, especially in international organizations. He also thanked Russian officials for visiting Serbia frequently, as it speaks of Russia's desire to maintain close relations with our country.

The two interlocutors noted that the implementation of the agreed projects - especially in the field of energy, as well as transportation infrastructure and high technologies - are making sound progress.
