Meeting with the Director General for Political Affairs at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom

The President of Serbia stated that the relations between the two countries are good, but that the political dialogue should be intensified.

 

As for the relations with Priština, President Vučić emphasised that Serbia remains strongly committed to the continuation of the EU-facilitated dialogue, however not before the taxes on Serbian goods are abolished. He stressed the importance of Great Britain asking the Priština authorities to abolish the taxes and added that Serbia faces tremendous challenges in the dialogue with Priština all aimed at finding a sustainable solution. „Our priority is to attain a lasting and sustainable solution for the issue of Kosovo and Metohija through compromise and without favouring of either side", said the President of Serbia. 

 

President Vučić thanked Great Britain for its support to the European integrations of Serbia in the course of the previous years. "We are grateful that Great Britain - in spite of the BREXIT - displays the readiness to help us in our EU integrations as the Eurointegration process of the Western Balkans states remains to be of critical importance for the peace and stability in the region", added President Vučić.
