Meeting with the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora

President Vučić emphasised that Serbia appreciates traditional friendships and that our foreign policy will strive not to neglect them at any time.

 

The two interlocutors welcomed the signing of documents on cooperation between Serbia and Palestine in the fields of youth, sports and security cooperation and noted that there are potentials for strengthening of economic cooperation as well as cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, culture and education.

 

Establishment of a Joint Cooperation Committee is proposed to concretize the signed agreements and assist in utilising the existing potentials for comprehensive cooperation.  

 

President Vučić said that intensification of political dialogue would be important for the cooperation between Serbia and Palestine, and he invited President Mahmoud Abbas to visit our country.

 

President Vučić thanked for the support of Palestine to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and its principled position regarding non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of so-called Kosovo, and especially for opposing the membership of so-called Kosovo in international organisations. With that respect, he emphasised that Serbia with its moderate and constructive position, as a responsible and reliable partner, contributes to the peace and stability in the region. 

 

Minister Al-Malki briefed President Vučić on the Palestinian view regarding the events in the Middle East.
