Meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić held earlier today a conference-call meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Suma Chakrabarti.
The topic of the meeting was cooperation between Serbia and EBRD in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its impact on the economic growth of Serbia and the Western Balkans and global economic trends.
President Vučić said the pandemic has a major impact on Serbia's economy, but that sound and stable public finances have proven to be more resilient to that impact than the others in the region. He added that the state of our finances is such thanks to the EBRD's support.

EBRD President Chakrabarti congratulated President Vučić on the way Serbia responded to the current challenges and said he was impressed with the measures taken, especially on the fiscal side, which is otherwise not easy to do.
President Vučić said that he hopes for the continued good cooperation and that EBRD investments in the private sector, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, are more than welcome.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the EBRD's plans for cooperation with local governments, which will contribute to the development of cities and towns in Serbia.
