Meeting with the President of the European Council
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today in Brussels with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, to discuss the European perspective of Serbia, reforms on the path to the EU membership and continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
On that occasion, President Vučić emphasised the importance of implementing the reforms required for the progress of Serbia's European integration, and in particular the continuation of economic reforms, the rule of law and fight against corruption.
European Council President Michel stressed the importance of re-establishing the Eu facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, which remains crucial for the region's European integration.
The two interlocutors also discussed the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the aid with which the European Union plans to support the region. The plan is for the Commission to present an economic and investment package in the autumn, to uphold the region's long-term recovery and bring it closer to the European Union.
