Meeting with the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Federal Assembly
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Federal Assembly, Isabelle Moret, and expressed readiness to intensify all kinds of cooperation between the two countries, primarily economic.
President Vučić thanked Switzerland, one of the largest donors of development and humanitarian aid to Serbia, and especially for the assistance in the field of dual education, which we are establishing in Serbia following the example of Switzerland as a country with one of the best educational systems. He stressed that dual education is the future and the key point of Serbia's progress. He also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation in this area with Ursula Renold of the Swiss Economic Institute.
The President of the National Council Moret said she was glad that President Vučić pointed out Switzerland as an example in the field of dual education and that the cooperation was concretized by the opening of the Science and Technology Park in Niš, which she visited. She also pointed out that Switzerland would continue to help Serbia through project financing, for which it now allocates 20 million euros a year.
The two interlocutors also discussed the situation in the region, especially the EU facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Priština. President Vučić said that Serbia remains committed to finding a compromise solution to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija. He briefed the Swiss official about the arrangements regarding the Mini-Schengen initiative.
President Vučić also thanked for the support of Switzerland to Serbia's European path and expressed his support for the strengthening of cooperation between the Serbian and Swiss parliaments.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.
