Meeting with the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Armed Forces
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met earlier today with the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Armed Forces Admiral Timothy Fraser to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and security.
President Vučić said he hoped that Serbian-British relations would reach a level of genuine partnership and that exchanging high-level visits would contribute to more substantial and more productive ties between the two countries in all areas. He expressed satisfaction that during the visit of Admiral Fraser, a plan of bilateral military cooperation - containing 33 joint activities - will be signed.
President Vučić and Admiral Fraser emphasised that the strategic goals of defence cooperation in the forthcoming period are to strengthen military-educational, military-medical and military cooperation.
Admiral Fraser said the British side is ready to offer assistance in the education and training of the Serbian Armed Forces. Joint military exercises of the Serbian Armed Forces with the United Kingdom Armed Forces have also been suggested during the meeting.
President Vučić and Admiral Fraser also discussed the situation in the region. "Serbia will always be a solid support for peaceful and stable Balkans," President Vučić said.
