Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents the Letter of Credence to President Vučić
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić received today the Letter of Credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabit Sizdikbekov and wished him welcome as the first Kazakh ambassador in Belgrade which indicates the importance of the decision of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to raise the previous diplomatic representation office in Serbia to the ambassadorial level as this country is our important partner on the international political scene.
President Vučić expressed his gratitude to Kazakhstan for the support to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia through non-recognition of so-called Kosovo along with his hope that such support will be further expressed in international organisations.
President Vučić said he believes that during the diplomatic post of Ambassador Sizdikbekov, considering his permanent stay in Belgrade, the opportunities for the development of cooperation between the two countries will be even more employed, especially in the field of economy. He asked the Ambassador to convey the invitation to President Tokayev to visit Serbia as well as the sincere greetings to the first President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev with the wishes for the attainment of the highly set targets in the development of their country.
The two interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to focus on the strengthening of economic cooperation in the coming period. In that respect, they emphasised the importance of signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and the countries of the Euroasian Economic Union where Kazakhstan is the member.
President Vučić and Ambassador Sizdikbekov have singled out agriculture, pharmaceutical industry, construction industry, transportation, special purpose industry and tourism as well as sports as the areas that offer the most extensive opportunities for cooperation.
