President meets the Foreign Minister of Finland
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Pekka Haavisto and expressed his pleasure with the marking of the important jubilee – 90 years as of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries also evidenced by the exhibition in the Archives of Yugoslavia.
President Vučić thanked Minister Haavisto for the support to the European path of Serbia and added that continuous and active support is essential especially considering the 6-months Finland's presidency of the EU Council.
During the meeting, President Vučić expressed satisfaction with the Finnish investments in Serbia. The two interlocutors, however, agreed that the potentials in the economic cooperations have not been sufficiently utilised.
They expressed hope that contacts between the Serbian and Finnish companies will grow more intensive considering that a direct flight was established between Belgrade and Helsinki at the beginning of June, which will also favourably serve the development of cooperation in the field of tourism.
President Vučić also informed Minister Haavisto about the reasons for the deadlock in the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština and pointed out that Serbia is ready to return to the dialogue upon abolishment of taxes as it sincerely seeks the achievement of a sound and sustainable compromise in the solution of the Kosovo and Metohija issue.
