President Vučić meets the Member of the Bundestag Peter Beyer
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today the Member of the Bundestag Peter Beyer to discuss the relations between the two countries, economic cooperation, the situation in the region and the European integrations of Serbia.
The interlocutors affirmed that Germany remains one of the most important economic partners of Serbia as well as one of the biggest investors in the Serbian economy. „We are interested in further development of economic cooperation through continuous growth and utilisation of the investment potentials. It is an encouraging fact that German businessmen in Serbia are most satisfied with their business operations", said President Vučić and added that about 400 companies with German equity assets operate in Serbia, employing approximately 60 thousand workers. „We hope that the economic cooperation will continue with the same intensity in this year as well, and that new German investments in Serbia will be realised", concluded President Vučić.
President Vučić emphasized that bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany are very good with mutual efforts aimed at further development of the relations. Political dialogue is characterized by advanced cooperation in all fields including the frequent visits at the high and the highest levels.
„We appreciate very much the steady support in the process of European integrations of Serbia and we expect that Germany will continue to exert its influence within the EU so that our reformistic efforts get the adequate evaluation. The Government of Serbia is fully committed to implementing the medium-term and long-term reforms. Our greatest efforts are now as before focused on Chapters 23 and 24, which are also the most demanding ones", emphasized President Vučić.
The German Member of the Bundestag Peter Beyer pointed out that there is no future of the European Union without the integration of the Western Balkans. „The interest of Germany is a stable and economically strong region", added Beyer.
During the meeting, President Vučić said that Serbia is completely committed to normalization of relations with Priština aimed at achieving a compromise solution acceptable for both sides. „We expect that such solution, if achieved, will gain the support of Germany, of the European Union and the broader international community", stated President Vučić.
