President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić conveyed a telegram of condolences on the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, which reads as follows:
"Your Majesty,
On behalf of the citizens of Serbia and on my own behalf, I would like to convey to you my most sincere condolences on the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Philip will always stand as an example of selfless public service through his relentless efforts and commitment to contributing to the well-being of the United Kingdom. With his vibrant personality and sense of unwavering responsibility for even the most demanding and difficult public duties over the decades, he has gained the undivided affection of not only the British people but of the entire world.
He was deeply committed to the well-being of the United Kingdom. Unobtrusively, but firmly, he won the hearts not only of his compatriots, but of all people regardless of nation, race or religion. He is appreciated for his seriousness, devotion, cheerful spirit and sincere patriotism, which he expressed through his constant service to the state for decades.
As a descendant of prominent royal families, Prince Philip showed the strength and consistency of an officer even in the most difficult of times, thus serving as a pillar of strength for his family and for the whole country, which will remember him with respect and deep admiration.
Once again, I express my deepest condolences. I am convinced that the United Kingdom will continue to remember Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in the way he well deserved.
Your Majesty, please accept the assurances of my deepest consideration", reads the telegram of President Vučić.
