Telephone conversation with Director-General of the World Health Organisation

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić spoke today by phone with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus.
President Vučić commended the World Health Organization's commitment and stressed that Serbia followed the organization's guidelines and was very pleased with the results achieved in the fight against the virus and protecting the population from COVID-19 infection.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus pledged support to Serbia for the implementation of the Sustainable production of serological assay ELISA test for antibodies against SARS-COV-2 virus in Serbia.
The World Health Organization launched this project in collaboration with UNDP to bring about innovative new solutions or replicate solutions in other parts of the world for the protection of care providers to minimize the risk of transmission of coronavirus and eliminate the effects of infection.
The project is planned to be conducted by the Faculty of Chemistry and the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy in Serbia, in cooperation with two partners - the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera "Torlak" and the Clinical Center of Serbia.
Director-General Ghebreyesus commended the results Serbia has achieved in the fight against COVID-19 and stressed that WHO will continue to help Serbia, both through this project and in its future commitment to improving the health system.
