Telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić talked on the phone with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and informed him about the talks in Washington and Brussels.
President Vučić and President Putin exchanged views on the situation in the Balkans and discussed current issues of the strategic Serbian-Russian partnership, including the development of dialogue at the highest level. The two interlocutors affirmed that Serbia and Russia are sincere friends, whose cooperation is based on mutual trust.
President Vučić emphasised that Serbia is a militarily neutral country, and President Putin welcomed Serbia's firm commitment. "Regardless of the weight and complexity of its geopolitical, military-security and economic position, Serbia will protect the principles of military neutrality and will remain a true and principled correct partner of the Russian Federation," President Vučić pointed out.
President Vučić expressed his gratitude to President Putin for Russia's consistent support for Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation would provide political support to Serbia in its efforts to preserve its territorial integrity and coordinate its foreign policy actions with Serbia, all aimed at protection of the international public-legal order.
President Vučić and President Putin pointed out that the economic ties between Serbia and Russia are continually strengthening, but that the opportunities for cooperation in the field of economy are far greater than the ones that are currently employed, therefore leaving room for new joint projects.
