Telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić spoke today over the telephone with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson.

In a friendly conversation, President Vučić invited Prime Minister Johnson to visit Serbia and reiterated that our country seeks to establish strategically important relations with the United Kingdom. He expressed hope that the intention to develop more effective and more productive Serbian-British ties was mutual. "It is essential for Serbia to strengthen the political dialogue with the United Kingdom, especially in the new circumstances that have arisen since your country left the European Union," President Vučić told Prime Minister Johnson. He also expressed interest in extending economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as cooperation in various areas of common interest, including defence.

President Vučić and Prime Minister Johnson discussed the regional situation, and the President reiterated Serbia's commitment to being a reliable support to peaceful and prosperous Western Balkans. In this regard, he briefed the British Prime Minister on the initiative to implement the four freedoms - the movement of people, goods, services and capital in the Western Balkans.

They also discussed the options for continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
